PR23 WEEKLY UPDATE #4
“This was a blast, and tougher than some gravel centuries I have done.”

Between snow events, wind, and some un-groomed trail it’s been tough out there… but that’s what EX is about. Despite the hardship spirits have been high. This week I heard from a 906AT events veteran who was reminded how hard a 30-ish mile ride in the winter can be. I heard from a first-timer who loved every brutal minute and can’t wait to come back for more. Finally… I heard from a father who came up with his family for the snowshoe sampler. His daughter learned the true meaning of “it was great until it wasn’t”. Keep sharing your stories.
“My daughter asked if I was kidding when I said we had to leave the groom and blaze our own trail.””

Let’s talk about what to expect between now and Polar Roll weekend if you’re headed this way for Mass Start weekend or the Ultra. We will finalize the remaining gpx-files and maps this week and then wait to release them until next week because… that’s what we do.
Maps and gpx aside if you haven’t downloaded a copy of the PR23-MOD2.2 Field Manual. DO IT. Everything you need to know about your event is in the manual. Except for early packet pickup – we didn’t cover that. You’ll get a “race week” email from us next week. Probably Monday, maybe later. If you’re looking for Polar Roll merch we will launch an online store next week and give you until February 26th get your stuff. Pom hats are back. Everyone gets one. When the store opens we’ll give you a code to claim your pom and a printed copy of the 2023 Field Manual.
“Had a great weekend in Marquette! I always return home exhausted and completely rejuvenated!”
